Biography: life and films

Jacques Villeret (real name: Mohammed Boufroura) was a French film actor. He was born in Tours, France on 6 February 1951 and died in Évreux, France on 28 January 2005. One of France's most respected actors, Villeret made his film debut in Yves Boisset's R.A.S. (1973) and went on to show his versatility in a wide range of comic and dramatic roles, on stage and screen. He is best known for playing the schmuck François Pignon in Francis Veber's comedy Le Dîner de cons (1998), the role for which he won a Best Actor César.
