Film Synopsis
Marie Pérennou and Claude Nuridsany are two committed biologists
who have spent three years filming the hidden world at ground level in
an ordinary country field. It is a world such as one we can
scarcely imagine, populated by millions of tiny creatures who must wage
a fierce, continuous struggle if they are to survive for the few weeks
that Nature has allotted them. Here are just a few of the marvels
that await us as we enter this astonishing microcosmos: ants
leading their herds of enslaved aphids, two snails exchanging a
slobbering kiss, a beetle working like Sisyphus to push a ball of dung
to a place where it can dine in peace. Welcome to the world of
the little creatures...
