Film Synopsis
Jacques Moreau, a film critic and journalist, is attending a screening of
a film when he notices an attractive middle-aged woman beside him.
To his surprise, she is sobbing profusely, so strongly is she affected by
what she sees on the screen. It is apparent that the woman, Eva, closely
identifies herself with the unfortunate heroine of the film and, like her,
she has come to realise that her life is no longer worth living. When
the visibly distraught woman walks out of the cinema, Jacques feels impelled
to follow her, concerned for her well-being and certain that she intends
harming herself. Can Jacques act in time to rescue a soul in distress,
or is it too late for him to prevent Eva from carrying through her self-destructive
plans...?
