Film Synopsis
Cécile, Isabelle and Adeline, three women who work in the same radiology
department at a hospital in Paris, are each coming to grips with an unwelcome
attack of mid-life crisis. After separating from her partner Patrick,
Cécile now lives alone with her teenage son Arnaud. The life
of the independent woman seems to suit her, and although she is not yet ready
for another long-term relationship, she is more than willing to indulge in
the odd liaison with any passing man that lights her candle. When Gilquin,
the father of one of her son's classmates, enters her life, Cécile
wonders if she has at last found Mr Right.
A busy mother of two who feels increasingly trapped in her marriage to a
man she no longer has any feelings for, Isabelle has come to envy Cécile.
Tired of her husband and his equally boorish male companions, she decides
to get even with him by getting him into bed with Julie, a receptionist in
her department. Adeline, the youngest of the three women, leads a more carefree
and superficial existence, happy to spend her evenings out on the town looking
for her next one-night stand. One of Adeline's romantic encounters
leaves her so emotionally scarred that she attempts suicide. Fortunately,
Cécile and Isabelle are at hand to see her through this crisis as
they attempt to deal with their own. It is by now apparent to all three
women that they have arrived at a crucial moment in their lives...
