Gert Fröbe was a German actor whose birth name was Karl Gerhard Fröbe. He was born in Zwickau, Saxony, German Empire on 25th February 1913 and died in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany on 5th September 1988, aged 75.

His best films as an actor include Jules Dassin's Celui qui doit mourir (1957), Fritz Lang's crime-thriller Die 1000 Augen des Dr. Mabuse (1960), Paul May's Via Mala (1961), Guy Hamilton's thriller Goldfinger (1964) and Luchino Visconti's Ludwig (1972).
