Summary
Since her parents’ separation, nine-year-old Mathilde lives with her mother Hélène.  Her only true friend is her grandfather, who is confined to a nursing home.  One day, whilst rummaging in a mattress, Mathilde finds a letter addressed to Paul from his former wife, who left when Hélène was ten.  One night, she goes to visit Paul and persuades him to track down his ex-wife...
Review
Yet another a barrel load of syrupy sentimentality from a first-time film director involving a child and her grandfather doing highly improbable, and slightly disturbing, things together.  There’s a lot of talent on both sides of the camera (but very little in the script department), yet this is largely wasted since the end result is a soggy mush of unconvincing triple strength saccharine that would be hilarious if it wasn’t so painful to watch.
