Via Margutta (1963)
Directed by Mario Camerini

Comedy / Drama

Film Synopsis

The Via Margutta is a narrow cobbled thoroughfare that wends its way through the heart of Rome.  It is a neighbourhood that is very popular with artists, many coping with hardship as they go in search of that elusive success.  It is here that we meet several very different women.  One refuses to grow up and insists on remaining the eternal child.  An older woman allows herself to be lured into bad marriage by a good-for-nothing sort.  A third woman chooses to sacrifice herself to a man who is odious beyond belief.  And the fourth does all that she can to save her distraught husband from killing himself...
