Film Synopsis

Paul and Laure are a young French couple who have long harboured an ambition to create their own community of artists.  To make this crazy dream a reality, they travel to Ireland shortly after Laure has given birth to their first child and settle in a small village.  There is an ideal spot nearby, in an area of woodland, which will satisfy both Laure's creative impulses as a painter and Paul's keen interest in nature.  Unfortunately, the every day reality of their new lives in a strange country looks set to derail their plans, or at least cause them to be postponed for a while.  The couple's first priority is to obtain a steady income, which means getting themselves paid work.  Paul is soon employed as a gardener whilst his partner teaches at a school in the nearest town.  Gradually, the couple find themselves drifting apart as Paul becomes increasingly trapped in his solitude and private thoughts.  The couple's fanciful dreams of a new life of creative freedom soon begin to fall apart...
