Film Synopsis

Ten years ago, Simon Nardis was a world famous jazz pianist, but the price of fame was more than he was equipped to deal with.  He became an alcoholic depressive and was on the point of killing himself when he met Suzanne.  She brought order and sanity into his troubled world, together with a sense of purpose that allowed him to get his life back on track.  Suzanne would only marry Simon if he agreed to give up his jazz career.  Now, ten years on, he is completely transformed.  He is a happily married family man and everything seems to be going well.  His musical ambitions, his drink problem, his violent mood swings - these are all in the past.  Or so he thought.

In the course of a stay in Brest, Simon finds himself in a jazz club, quite by chance.  The stage piano grabs his attention and draws him towards it.  The next thing Simon knows he is seated at the keyboard and hammering out a tune.  It is not a particularly agreeable sound that he makes but suddenly he feels as if something has awoken within him.  Before he knows it Simon has succumbed to his old demons - music, drink and depression.  To make matters worse, he cannot help being attracted to Debbie, the singer and owner of the jazz club.  As Simon sinks back into his old ways, he has cause to wonder whether by marrying Suzanne he has made the right choice.  Music is in his blood, along with the anguish that never leaves him...
