Film Synopsis

As soon as Hitler came to power, thousands of Germans fleeing arrest and the concentration camps arrived in France in the 1930s.  There were about 53 thousand of them, 37 thousand being Jews.  Some of them were just passing through, on their way to other countries such as Britain and the United States, but the majority remained.  They were not well-received...
