Film Synopsis

Thérèse Etienne, a country woman, finds work as a servant on Anton Muller's farm.  Muller, a coarse and frequently drunk man, falls in love with her and forces her to marry him.  On the day of her wedding, Thérèse meets Anton's son and the two young people cannot help falling for one another...
