Film Synopsis

Juliette lives in a small provincial town in France with her daughter Julie and earns a living by giving piano lessons. Julie is proving to be an incredibly talented musician, but only her mother knows this. Juliette loves her daughter, but she regards her merely as an extension of her own talent. Julie is the musical prodigy that she has always dreamed of being. Now Julie is no more than a musical instrument in her mother's hands, her every action, her every thought controlled by the woman who cannot recognise her as an autonomous individual. As she goes on manipulating her daughter as if she were merely a marionette, Juliette fails to realise that she is selfishly putting her life in danger...
