Film Synopsis
In 1975, as a young assistant filmmaker, Nicolas Philibert took part in
an exceptional filmmaking adventure with the director René
Allio. This film recounted a true story that took place in
Normandy in 1835, in which a 20-year-old peasant farmer killed three
members of his family with a sickle. Shot on the spot not far
from where the murders took place, Allio's film owed it force to
the fact that most of the roles were taken by ordinary people living in
the area. Thirty years on, Nicolas Philibert returns to the
region, as much to evoke memories of this past adventure as to show
things as they are today.
