Film Synopsis

Having recently completed his medical studies, a young doctor, Jean Nérac, can hardly wait to begin his career as a general practioner.  He moves to the Cantal region of France to replace an old doctor who is to ill to practice.  Thus begins a long and difficult apprenticeship, but Jean soon realises that the rewards of his job more than make up for its shortcomings...
