Film Synopsis

The policeman Renaud, nicknamed the King of Camargue and respected by everyone on account of his strength and courage, is in love with Lisette.  But he succumbs to the charms of a stunningly beautiful gypsy and Lisette, thinking she has been abandoned, tries to drown herself.  Renaud comes to her rescue and the two can at last marry.
