Film Synopsis
Paris in the late 1950s. Janin, a young missionary, chooses to
exercise his vocation as a priest in Pigalle, hoping that he may save
several young women from a life of prostitution. Working as a
barman, he comes into conflict with Maurice, one of the pimps in the
Montmartre area. He then falls foul of a woman named Josy, who,
not knowing that Janin is a priest, falls in love with him. One
day, whilst helping to steer Malou away from her sordid profession,
Janin gets into a fight with Maurice and sustains a serious
injury. Josy runs to his aid, unable to control her feelings for
the priest. When Janin repels her, Josy takes her revenge by
drawing a young protégée of his into her
business...
