Film Synopsis
France under the reign of King Louis XIII. In 1615, the Duke of
Angoulême leads a faction of noblemen who conspire to drive from
the royal court all Florentines, including their powerful leader
Concini. Adhémar de Capestang, a young man who is destined
to become the Captain, leaves his home town to make a name for himself
in Paris. On the way, he comes to the rescue of a young woman,
Gisèle d'Angoulême, when she falls into the hands of a
masked individual who intended to abduct her. Many adventures
later, Capestang fights and kills the masked stranger in a duel, only
to discover that he is none other than Concini. Having earned the
gratitude and friendship of the king, Capestang is free to marry
Gisèle.
