La Septième porte (1948)
Directed by André Zwoboda

Drama

Film Synopsis

An old man bequeaths his luxurious palace and his entire fortune to a carefree Arab man named Ali.  Before he dies, the old man tells his legatee that he must not open the seventh door of his palace; if he does, his life will pass within one cycle of the moon.  Ali cannot resist the temptation and passes through the forbidden portal.  He then undergoes a fantastic journey, during which the little girl who accompanies him ages into an old woman.  When he returns to the palace, Ali notices that he too has become an old man.  He tries desperately to find a young man to take his place, but in vain.  He has used up his life for nothing.
