Film Synopsis

A young engineer is in love with his employers' daughter.  But his rival, Dupré, manages to oust him and he goes away.  The young woman visits Lisieux, where she is profoundly moved by a procession in honour of Saint Thérèse.  Dupré persuades her that she should sacrifice herself for her parents, whom he has ruined.  But the engineer returns just in time, having made his fortune, and asks for his beloved's hand in marriage.
