Film Synopsis
One evening in
1940, a couple of refugees arrive in a small town in Provence.
The man, a carpenter, drags a small cart containing their few pitiful
belongings. The woman is pregnant and is due to give birth at any
moment. The couple are weary after their long journey and
they search in vain for a place to spend the night. Finally, they
meet a kindly farmer who allows them to stay in his
stable...
