Film Synopsis

An orphan boy without any family to speak of, Yves Treguier has grown up living in one institution after another, with the result that he is now a wild and rebellious teenager.  Running away from a harshly run reform school in Brittany, he heads for Paris in the hope of meeting up with one of the truest friends he has ever known, Dédé la Glace.  A small-time crook with a kind heart, Dédé is in a desperate state after falling seriously ill.  To obtain the money to pay his friend's medical bills, Yves has to resort to peddling drugs.

Dédé's friendship with Yves upsets a nasty pimp named Jo the Greek, who takes his revenge by seducing Dédé's prostitute lover Wanda and then killing his rival.  It is through the intervention of Father Blain, the sympathetic owner of a café, that Yves escapes the same fate as his friend Dédé.  By now, Yves has made up his mind to turn over a new leaf and start leading an honest life, after falling in love with 17-year-old Zette.  The latter's revelation that she is pregnant provides just the incentive that Yves needs to change his ways and take charge of his life.
