Film Synopsis
In Hollywood of the early 1940s, Orlando Higgens is an agent for some of
the biggest film stars of the period. His main employer is the movie
magnate J.B. Cobb, who has high hopes for his latest lavish blockbuster,
The Son of Destiny. But before filming gets under way, the lead
actress is murdered and Orlando is fingered as the prime suspect, since he
was seen rowing with the unfortunate woman just before her death. Inspector
Egelhofer has barely begun his investigation when another murder takes place,
and then a third. In each case, the victim is a screen actor, and it
becomes apparent that the killer has a particular grudge against those in
the acting profession. It transpires that the murder is the mysterious
fakir Monsieur Albert, who has his own reason for pursuing a homicidal vendetta
against the world of show business...
