Film Synopsis

For the past eight years, Tania has been living illegally in Belgium with her young son Ivan.  Russian immigrants, neither has the necessary documents to allow them to remain in the country, so they are both constantly on the alert, fearing that they will be arrested at any moment by the authorities and sent back to their own country.  As immigration controls become increasingly tighter and police checks more frequent, Tania knows it is only a question of time before her luck runs out.  That day comes soon enough.

Picked up by the police, Tania finds herself in a detention centre, whilst her 14-year-old son remains at liberty, at least for the time being.  The Russian woman is determined to find her son at any cost, but as she sets about looking for him she knows that the chances of them both escaping deportation are now practically non-existent.  It seems that immigrants are far from welcome in Belgium and Tania will have an ordeal preventing herself and her son from being sent back to the country that has nothing to offer them but unbridled misery...
