Film Synopsis
Lucie is a young arts student who earns a meagre crust working in a photocopying
shop. As she writes her thesis on the 18th century painter Jean-Antoine
Watteau she becomes convinced that there is a hidden meaning in his paintings.
Just who is the mysterious woman who is seen only from the back in the works
of this great master? Can she possibly be someone of importance in
the painter's life, someone that Watteau's biographers know nothing of?
As she sets about unravelling this mystery, Lucie enlists the help of Vincent,
a man who has been dumb since birth. An unknown facet of Watteau's
life may be about to be unveiled, nearly three hundred years after his death...
