Film Synopsis

Claire, 17, is spending her summer holidays with her family in South Africa.  She has a habit of squabbling with her brother, and this is how she comes to be stuck in the car whilst her parents and brother go off to explore the region.  It is a quirk of fate that ends up saving her life, because she is the only member of the party to return home after a tragic accident.  Stricken with guilt and teetering on the brink of a complete nervous breakdown, Claire blames herself for the deaths of her nearest relatives, but when she comes to her senses she sees things differently.  Fate, she decides, is on her side, and will be whatever she chooses to do with her life.  This realisation has an immense liberating effect on her as she embarks on a new life, confident that she is the master of her own destiny...
