Pier Paolo Pasolini was an Italian film director and screenwriter. He was born in Bologna, Italy on 5th March 1922 and died in Ostia, Rome, Italy on 2nd November 1975, aged 53.

His best films as a screenwriter include Federico Fellini's Le Notti di Cabiria (1957), Mauro Bolognini's La Notte brava (1959), Accattone (1961), Il Vangelo secondo Matteo (1964) and Teorema (1968), and whose best work as a film director include Accattone (1961), Il Vangelo secondo Matteo (1964), Edipo re (1967), Teorema (1968) and Appunti per un romanzo dell'immondezza (1970).
