Marlene Dietrich was a German-American actress and singer whose birth name was Marie Magdalene Dietrich. She was born in Schöneberg, Germany on 27th December 1901 and died in Paris, France on 6th May 1992, aged 90.

Her best films as an actor include Josef von Sternberg's Der Blaue Engel (1930), Shanghai Express (1932), The Devil Is a Woman (1935), Alfred Hitchcock's comedy-thriller Stage Fright (1950) and Billy Wilder's Witness for the Prosecution (1957).
