Claudette Colbert was an American actress. She was born in Saint-Mandé, France on 13th September 1903 and died in Speightstown, Barbados on 30th July 1996, aged 92.

Her best films as an actor include Hobart Henley's The Lady Lies (1929), Ernst Lubitsch's comedy The Smiling Lieutenant (1931), Frank Capra's It Happened One Night (1934), Gregory La Cava's She Married Her Boss (1935) and Preston Sturges's The Palm Beach Story (1942).
