Film Synopsis

Gracieuse is a devoted lover of horses who knows that she has the potential and determination to become a champion horse rider.  But when her employer sells the show-jumping horse that has been promised to her she walks off in disgust and gets herself hired as a stable girl at a nearby stud farm.  Her new employer, Joséphine de Silène, cannot afford to be sentimental and runs her business with an iron hand.  She takes advantage of her trainer, Franz Mann, who used to be a champion jockey but now devotes his obvious talents to the needs of his boss's very wealthy and very demanding customers.  Working for the hard-nosed and hard to please Joséphine proves to be an eye-opening experience for someone as idealistic and naive as Gracieuse.  Circumstances may be against her, but she is far from ready to give up her dreams of horse riding success.  Is there anything she would not do to full her ambitions...?
