Orson Welles was an American actor, film director, screenwriter and producer whose birth name was George Orson Welles. He was born in Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA on 6th May 1915 and died in Los Angeles, California, USA on 10th October 1985, aged 70.

His best films as an actor include Carol Reed's thriller The Third Man (1949), Othello (1952), Mr. Arkadin (1955), Touch of Evil (1958) and Sergei Bondarchuk's Waterloo (1970), and whose best work as a film director include Citizen Kane (1941), The Magnificent Ambersons (1942), Othello (1952), Touch of Evil (1958) and Le Procès (1962).
