Film Synopsis
Although she is engaged, against her wishes, to her childhood friend,
Yamilé, a Maronite Christian, falls in love with Osman, a
handsome Muslim. The two marry in secret and take flight, but it
is not long before Yamilé's fiancé and brother catch up
with them. Brought before a family tribunal, Yamilé shows
no remorse for marrying a Muslim and is ready to die according to the
traditions of her people.
