Unfaithfully Yours (1948)
Directed by Preston Sturges

Comedy / Music / Romance / Thriller

Film Synopsis

Sir Alfred Carter, a distinguished conductor, is convinced that his beautiful wife Daphne is having an affair with another man.  Whilst he is away on a tour, he asks his brother-in-law to keep an eye on her.  Carter's suspicions are confirmed by a private detective, who alerts him to the fact that Daphne is seeing his own secretary, Tony.  Inspired by the music that he conducts during his tour, Sir Alfred envisages three dramatically different conclusions to the affair.  Rossini, Wagner and Tchaikovski present him with three course of action: he can either murder his wife (by committing the perfect crime); he can play the magnanimous husband and forgive her; or he can resort to Russian roulette...
