Film Synopsis

Jean-François Vanier is desperate to be re-elected for a second term as President of the Republic, but his opinion ratings are at their lowest and a sense of impending defeat hangs over his campaign.  It is only three weeks from the first round of the elections and Vanier needs to make significant progress in the polls if he is to avoid a humiliating defeat.  The obvious thing would be to galvanise the support of those who, like him, are on the right of the political spectrum.  Instead, his advisers convince him that he should seek an endorsement from Robert Bergman, a former leftwing politician who is still highly thought of.  Without delay, Vanier's team drops in on the little village in the Gers region of France where Bergman lives, knowing they have an uphill task ahead of them as they try to convince the political big beast to support their candidate...
