Film Synopsis

In 1871, Arthur Rimbaud shows up at the home of the poet Paul Verlaine.  A short while later, overwhelmed by the talent and beauty of the adolescent, Verlaine leaves his wife and begins an affair with Rimbaud.  The relationship between the two men is stormy, thanks to Rimbaud's caprices and Verlaine's weaknesses.  One day, there is a crisis and Verlaine shoots his lover.  Rimbaud survives but his attacker is condemned to two years in prison.  When Verlaine is released, the feelings that the two men have for one another are unchanged...
