Film Synopsis
The sole survivor of a shipwreck washes up on an uninhabited tropical island.
After exploring his surroundings, the man establishes a routine that will
allow him to survive whilst he prepares his return to civilisation.
With its abundance of food and apparent lack of any kind of threat, the island
would seem to be the closest thing to paradise, but the man is determined
to leave and resume his complicated old life. To that end, he constructs
a raft, but every time he is about to set to sea the raft is mysteriously
destroyed. It is as if the island is equally determined to keep him
a prisoner here against his will. Finally, the man discovers what is
wrecking his makeshift raft - it is a turtle with a red shell. What
possible motive could the troublesome turtle have in wanting to thwart his
attempts to leave paradise...?
