Film Synopsis

At the start of the 19th century, Vivette and Pascal are deeply in love and want to get married because the young woman is pregnant. Unfortunately, Vivette's father has already promised her to an officer, Lieutenant Marcellin. Brokenhearted, Pascal joins Napoléon's army and soon becomes a hero on the battlefield. Several years after Vivette's marriage to Marcellin, Pascal returns and claims his former love.
