Film Synopsis

During a fancy dress ball, a young man from the provinces meets Fanny Legrand and immediately falls under her spell.  They pursue a love affair but, one day, the young man learns that Fanny was once a notorious coquette.  He leaves her, but later returns and forgives her.  When he goes off to America, Fanny decides not to accompany him.
