Film Synopsis

In 1920, Maggiorina leaves Italy and settles in l'Estaque, Marseille, where two friends, Jérôme and Mindou, are competing for the title of the best swimmer.  Ten years later, Maggiorina is married to Jérôme, now a chauffeur, and Mindou is a pimp for Ginette, Maggiorina's friend.  Jérôme and Maggiorina start a family and enjoy a simple, happy life, whilst Mindou is torn between his working class origins and his involvement with the criminal underworld...
