Retour au paradis (1935)
Directed by Serge de Poligny

Drama
aka: Return to Paradise

Film Synopsis

The ingenious Dr Bouvard has conceived a singular experiment which might help him in his understanding of the human condition.  What he intends doing is incredibly simple: to take a group of ordinary, stressed-out city dwellers and see how they behave when they are placed in a completely different setting, namely the peaceful countryside.  Will they look upon this as a welcome return to paradise or a terrible excursion into Hell?   Dr Bouvard's curiosity and efforts are amply rewarded when he sees how his unsuspecting guinea pigs take to their new environment.  The results are certainly surprising, but they are far from disappointing...
