Pour le réconfort (2017)
Directed by Vincent Macaigne

Drama

Film Synopsis

After living abroad for several years, Pascal and Pauline return to their native France to visit their parents, who are struggling with the upkeep of their extensive estate.  Unable to keep up with the escalating payments, the old couple seem to have no option but to give up and sell their land.  Fortunately, it appears that there is someone who is more than willing to take their burden off their hands - for a derisory price.

The individual in question is Emmanuel, a close childhood friend of Pascal and Pauline.  Now a successful property developer, he has long coveted the land and intends building a number of retirement homes on it.  The problem is that the troublesome siblings have no intention of allowing their parents to be forced into selling their land at a knockdown price.  It seems that the friendship of yesterday is about to turn into the bitterest of conflicts...
