Piégé (2014)
Directed by Yannick Saillet

War / Drama

Film Synopsis

Sergeant Denis Quillard is leading his patrol across the unforgiving deserts of Afghanistan when he suddenly comes under enemy fire.  In a matter of seconds his entire patrol is wiped out.  He is the only survivor.  But then he finds he is standing on a landmine which is primed to explode at any moment if he makes the slightest movement.  Quillard is unable to call for help from his unit as his radio is out of reach.  So here he is, under a boiling sun, caught like a rat in a trap.  A sitting target for his enemy, he is all too aware that he will die instantly if he so much as twitches.  That is the best he can hope for.  The alternative possibility - that he might merely be severely maimed - is too terrible to contemplate.  As his strength and morale start to ebb away he begins to give way to his fears and wonders how this nightmarish ordeal will end...
