Film Synopsis
One evening in Beirut, a renowned surgeon named Walter receives an
unexpected visit at his home from a stranger, Bortak, and his sick
wife. Walter refuses to examine the ill woman, insisting that
they should seek medical help at the hospital several miles away.
The next morning, when he arrives at the hospital Walter is notified
that Mrs Bortak died in the course of an operation. That evening,
Walter is relaxing at a nearby nightclub when he has a chance encounter
with Bortak. Instead of reacting hostilely towards the surgeon
Bortak pays for his drinks and offers a cordial invitation to his
home. Things take a sinister turn when, a short while later,
Walter is asked by a man to attend to a sick person in the village some
distance away in the mountains. On the way back, the surgeon
finds that his car has been put out of action. As he makes the
journey back home on foot Walter soon runs into Bortak, who has been
waiting for
him...
