Victor Lasnier, a screenwriter, is fed up of being made a laughing stock just because he is overweight.  Determined to lose weight to make himself more attractive to the opposite sex, he is easy prey for charlatans who know a sucker when they see one.  Then he meets the seductive Patricia, who claims to know of a sure-fire way to become thin and beautiful...
