Film Synopsis

Maitre Augias fears that he may be attacked by the keeper Martegas, whom he has just dismissed for theft.  To safeguard his person, he appeals to Jean Pastorel, his daughter Zanette's fiancé.  Pastorel's heart is turned when he meets the beautiful Roseline whilst passing through the Camargue.  He soon sees Roseline for what she is - a flighty thing of low morals - and returns to claim the love of Zanette.
