Film Synopsis

Wallace Shawn is a down-to-earth dramatist who, whilst not having much success in his career, is nonetheless happy with his modest achievements.  One of his friends is André Gregory, a theatre director who has acquired a taste for extravagant New Age fantasies.  One evening, a mutual friend brings the two men together for a dinner in a chic New York restaurant.  Their conversation ranges far and wide, from the role of theatre in contemporary society to the meaning of life...
