Film Synopsis
Joe Buck leaves his backwater town in Texas and sets off for New York, hoping
to make his fortune by selling himself to rich, lonely women as the handsome
cowboy. Life in the city turns out to be much harder than he expected
and it isn't long before Joe's illusions have well and truly evaporated.
Alone and penniless, he strikes up an acquaintance with Ratso Rizzo, a sickly
Italian with a limp. With few other options open to him, Joe agrees
to share Ratso's miserable squat. The two men swap stories about their
past and soon realise that, different though they may be in every other respect,
they share the same dreams - to escape and live a life of ease in Florida...
