Film Synopsis
In the 17th century, Marianne is a young orphan girl who, thinking she is of noble blood, fears she will be forced into an arranged marriage. To thwart the scheme, she makes up her mind to enter a convent. This film is an adaptation of De Marivaux's unfinished novel La Vie de Marianne, originally made for French television.© James Travers
