Film Synopsis

France, 1936, a time of political upheaval and national optimism.  Marie and Aldo are a young working class couple; she works in a textile mill; he is a miner.  Taking advantage of the paid leave that has been recently introduced by the Popular Front government, they set out on a well-deserved holiday together.  Their happiness is threatened when Aldo makes up his mind to fight aginst Fascism in the Spanish Civil War...
