Film Synopsis
Julien Dantec is an electronics engineer who specialises in maritime
equipment. When he learns about a round-the-world solo boat race,
he tries to sell his instruments to one of the contestants, without
success. He then decides to enter the race himself and obtains
the support of a journalist named Barral, who offers to take care of
the publicity. Dantec's maritime adventure gets off to a bad
start and gradually worsens as the race gets underway. Having
lost radio contact with Dantec, Barral gives out false reports of his
progress. The deceit appears to work and Dantec may yet win the
race...
