Film Synopsis
For Armand Teillard, a placid man in his mid-fifties living in semi-retirement
on the Côte d'Azur, life couldn't be peachier. His popular clothes
shop provides him with a steady income and he has a girlfriend Viviane he
adores. In addition, his record collection is the envy of any man of
his age. His greatest pleasure is a little pavement restaurant named
the
Aline Roc. Here, whilst partaking of his perfectly prepared
midday meal, he can sit in peace and take stock of his life whilst gazing
contentedly out to sea. It's the nearest thing to paradise. When
the restaurant's owners, Sofia and Martial, tell Armand that they are being
pressurised to sell their business to Zapetti, an unscrupulous property developer,
Armand can scarcely believe his ears.
It seems that Zapetti intends bulldozing the restaurant to the ground and
building a luxury hotel in its place for the exclusive use of Russian millionaires.
Armand is not the kind of man who likes to create trouble but this is one
occasion where he is justified in losing his rag. No one is going to
snatch his little corner of paradise from him, not even the Russian mafia!
So, without delay, he gets himself a new identity and passes himself off
as his own twin brother - a sharp-suited man about town named Maurice, known
to his underworld cronies as The Whistler. If there is anyone who can
put the frighteners on Zapetti and his criminal associates it is Maurice,
the scourge of the Riviera...
